The Audio Format area allows selection between standard sound format (PCM) and advanced sound format properties. When the Advanced option is selected you can use the Select Audio Format button to choose from the audio codecs available on your system. Otherwise you will use the Standard audio format options to choose the sampling rate, sample size and channels to be used for conversion.
Sampling Rate Higher sampling rate provides higher quality of sound, but also requires more disk space and processing. Setting a different rate than the original audio also requires additional processing time.

Likewise, higher bit depths and stereo provide better quality but require more disk space and processing.
