Audio Format Options (Advanced)


Activating the Advanced audio format radio button, you will be able to launch either the Sound Selection (AVI) or Sound Settings (QT) dialog box by pressing the Select Audio Format button. In this dialog box it is possible to select the desired audio format as well as appropriate format attributes. This selection is dependent on the codecs you have installed on your machine.

You can use the Format field and its drop-down menu to select the particular format you wish to use. AVI audio codecs include the following (may vary depending on which codecs you currently have installed on your system):

After selecting the codec, you can use the Attributes field and its drop-down menu to choose the characteristics of the audio file (Hz, bit rate, etc.) The range of these attributes depends on the selected format.

Once you have made the desired selections, you may wish to save these settings for later use. To do this simply click on the Save as... button and enter a descriptive name for the settings you have made. To select the saved settings, use the drop-down menu in the Name field. Incite Media Assistant comes with three predefined parameter settings:

CD Quality      PCM   44,100 Hz,    16 Bit, Stereo   172 KB/s  
Radio Quality      PCM   22,050 Hz   8 Bit, Mono    22 KB/s  
Telephone Quality   PCM,    11,025 Hz    8 Bit, Mono    11 KB/s  

To remove an item from the settings Name list, select the item and press the Remove button.

Using the Sound Settings dialog box, you can select from the following compressors (may vary depending on which codecs you currently have installed on your system):

Parameter or attribute settings for these compression formats include Rate, Size (8 or 16 bit) and Use (mono or stereo).


Tips & Notes


·Under Options in the Sound Settings window, you can select between Big and Little Endian for Floating-Point and Integer formats. For QDesign Music, Options lets you select different bit rates, while for PureVoice you can choose either the PureVoice full rate (approximately 9:1) or the Qualcomm half rate (approximately 19:1).
