6.3 Exporting IML files from Incite to Incite Media Assistant
1. | First select the layers you wish to export. You can activate 1 video layer and up to 4 audio layers.
2. | Right click on the Layer Name indicator and select Export/Incite Media Assistant from the pop-up menu.
3. | The Incite Media Assistant Export dialog box appears. Enter the name you wish to use for the IML, select a directory for saving the file, and press Save.
1. | In Incite Media Assistant, activate the Storyboard window.
2. | Place the Position bar over the frame you wish to use for the insertion.
3. | Open the Save menu and select Import Incite IML.
4. | An Open dialog box appears. Browse for the IML file, select it and press Open.
5. | The storyclips are inserted into the storyboard.
| |
· | You can export only a single video track and up to 4 linked audio tracks. In Incite this means 1 V layer or 1 VA layer and 4 AV layers. Audio will not appear in an Incite Media Assistant storyboard but you can select and listen to 1 of these four "external" files at a time.
· | Incite Media Assistant cannot read video/audio split editing or video audio tracks that are no longer in sync. If you export IMLs where this type of editing has occurred, you will find unwanted results.
· | You cannot export independent Wav files. You can, however, artifically linked Wav files to video files by matching file names and adding audio channel suffixes, e.g. myClip.avi, myClip.A1.wav, myClip.A2.wav, etc.
· | No more than one V track can be exported per IML file. If more than one video track on an Incite Storyboard is activated, the uppermost track is used for the export.
· | Dissolves and other effects cannot be exported. You can, however, export rendered or mix-down clips. If you try to export a sequence with dissolves, Incite Media Assistant will add material equal to the duration of the dissolve to the initial clip forming the dissolve (if enough material is available).
· | If the duration of the Incite storyboard is longer than the length of Incite Media Assistant's storyboard, the IML file will be cut to fit the current duration and certain clips will not be imported. Remember as well, Incite Media Assistant provides a maximum storyboard length of 60 minutes (Incite 2 hours).
· | After creating an IML with Incite, you can import it directly to an Incite Media Assistant converter. This will convert the original media files used to make the IML sequence. For more details, see 3.13 Converting IML Files.
