Large and Small Icons

Each media file is displayed in a small monitor or "picon". Below the monitor is a field containing the name of the clip and a play/stop button for viewing video files or listening to audio files.

When viewing small or large icons you can also choose to show or hide other types of information relevant to the clip. For example you may wish to Show Related Files. Related files are files that are linked to the media file. They have the same name, but use a different extension (for example .rtf for Rich Text Format files or .tci for Timecode Information files). In addition you may wish to display timecode for your media files in the viewing area. The timecode field is updated in real-time as you play the media file in the picon monitor. Finally, you can choose to display the intrinsic media information related to the file. For example, the file format, resolution, frequency, fps, size, etc.

Tips & Notes

·In general the original name of the media file is used in the Name field. If the media file has a related TCI file, and the TCI file contains a "clip name" entry for the media file, this alias will be used. For more see Appendix: About TCI Files.
