Importing Storyboards Using the Drag Icon

Perhaps the simplest way to import an Incite Media Assistant storyboard is to use the Drag Storyboard icon located in the lower left-hand corner of the Storyboard window. To use this method, however, both Incite Media Assistant and Incite must be open on the same system.

1. Position Incite's interface and Incite Media Assistant's interface comfortably within the screen (or screens) to facilitate the drag and drop.

2. On an Incite Storyboard, activate the video layer you wish to use for the insertion. If you are working with external audio files, be sure to activate the appropriate number of audio layers as well.

3. Place the Position bar, choosing which frame you wish to use as the initial frame for insertion.

4. In Incite Media Assistant, click on the Drag Storyboard icon, drag it to the Incite storyboard.

5. An Import dialog box appears. Use this dialog box to select the directory for the new media files (if required). You can also choose to have the clips inserted as storyclips into the Incite storyboard using the Insert Clips into Storyboard check box, or else create clips only. The clips are placed in the currently open clip collection.

Tips & Notes

·You can drag and drop a media file from the Preview/logger monitor to an Incite Storyboard. Press the ALT key, click on the Preview/logger monitor and drag the file to an Incite storyboard layer. An IML file, containing a single clip is created and used for the immediate importation of the edited media file.
