Finding Media Files Using Search Mode

Incite Media Assistant also provides a Search mode feature that will help you access media files quickly.

The Search Mode button is located in the upper left-hand corner of the Catalog window. Pressing this button opens a special Search window just above the directory tree used for browsing.

This window allows you to enter a specific word or phrase to be used by the search engine. You can also activate or deactivate certain options (search only RTF files for example), which will help you limit the search to be made. Once you have established the criteria of the search, use the Browser to select the drive, folder or sub-folder you wish to search within.

Press the Start Search button and Incite Media Assistant begins searching for all matching files. Once found, these files are displayed in the Catalog List area. In Search mode you can make RTF entries, log points and insert storyclips into the storyboard and work with the media files. Note, however, that the media files displayed may come from different file directories, so using Search mode to locate files is somewhat different from browsing for and displaying a single file folder.

Tips & Notes

·Once you have entered Search mode, you will not be able to browse media file folders. The Catalog List will show only those media file found by the search. The directory tree is used solely for selecting the directory to be searched (drive, folder, or sub-folder). To exit Search mode, click on the Search Mode button once again.

·Try to make the text entry as specific as possible in order to limit the number of files produced by the search results.
