5.1 Introduction

In chapter 4, we discussed how media files can be logged, inserted to your storyboard and updated in the Monitor window. We then showed you how the storyboard can be exported as an IML file, text file or how movie files could be created.

Now it is time to take a closer look at the Storyboard window, as it provides its own tools for editing storyclips on the storyboard. To begin with, we will speak about the Storyboard project (or MSB files) in general, followed by some comments on important Storyboard preferences and the timebase of the timeline. After summarizing the timeline viewing tools, we will then discuss Incite Media Assistant's editing modes (TV, Film and Ripple mode) and all of the editing tools and techniques you can use to edit your storyclips.
