It is important, when working with Incite and Incite Media Assistant, to remember that Incite (using DirectX technology) faces no file size limitations when capturing clips. On the other hand, VFW imposes a restriction of 1GB as its maximum file size (may be up to 2 GB if an audio stream is included). Incite Media Assistant must accept this restriction as well in order to be able to convert into the wide variety of formats.
As a result, it is better to capture Incite media files bearing this VFW size limitation in mind if you plan to work with these media files within Incite Media Assistant. Incite media files exceeding this limitation may be only partially viewable (up to 1 GB) or not useable at all within Incite Media Assistant.
If you have already captured media files exceeding the 1GB limitation, then you can do one of the following:
1.
Recapture the media file using a lower data rate or
2.
Cut the large media file into smaller sized clips on the Incite storyboard, then use the Create Clips command to create new media files.
