3.9 Conversion Templates (.MCC and .RVT files)

On the main toolbar of the AVI and RM Converter windows you will find the menu Template. This menu allows you to save conversion templates based on the current selections you have made in the Converter window. Templates are saved using the extension .mcc (in the case of AVI) and .rvt (in the case of RM).

To save a template, simply make all of the video and audio format selections you wish to use and then select Save from the Template menu. The Save dialog box appears where you can assign a name for the template and a location. Naming the template in such a way as to easily identify its main attributes may be useful for you (i.e. Intel_15fps.mcc).

When changing selections for the same template, selecting Save will overwrite the previous selections. Save As lets you save the changes as a new file. Another way to create a new .mcc or .rvt file is to simply select New from the Template menu. To open a template select Open from the Template menu and use the Open dialog box to browse for the template you wish to work with. Like most Windows-based programs, the most recently used template files appear at the bottom of the Template menu for rapid selection. Selecting Exit from the Template menu will close the Converter window.

Tips & Notes

·Saving a template will also save the file folder location in the Files/Folders tab. You may prefer to leave this field empty when creating and saving the template. You can always enter the location before selecting files for conversion.

·It is not necessary to open the AVI or RM Converter window to create initial setting for conversion as Incite Media Assistant provides a default template for this purpose (conv_avi.mcc and conv_rv.rvt). The initial default settings for AVI are Indeo 5, 15 FPS, original size, 11,050 HZ stereo audio. The initial default settings for RM are: Multi-rate SureStream, 28K/56K modem, Emphasize Audio, Voice Only, Normal Motion, no filtering, original frame size and Do not use AVI Conversion. As you work and change parameters, the default template is updated to match the last used selections. These settings will then be used as the current default parameters. In the case of RM, the default button restores the current settings to the original default parameters.

·There are no templates for QuickTime conversions. There are, however, default settings for QuickTime. When you select the Convert Selected to QT command for the first time in an Incite Media Assistant session, you will be asked whether you wish to use the default settings or create new ones. To create new ones you will need to open the QT Converter window.
